This is the best nursery in the valley. I have been shopping there since Alex opened his doors. It gets bigger and better every year. I’m so grateful to have this wonderful garden center just a mile from my home.

A great little Farmer’s market open on weekdays. Just what I was wishing for! Besides local produce, they have an interesting selection of other locally made products. And they are located right on State Street so are easy to get to.

Runs from July to the end of October. Wonderful selection of produce, goods (handmade notebooks from old books, comfy pants, aprons, knitted items, rings), honey, eggs (sometimes), etc. It changes from year to year, but is always fantastic. There is a booth where a BYU chef prepares a little sample for everyone for free to try and the recipe is online. It’s an amazingly good time.

Every year it’s different, but it’s fun every time. Usually there’s a chef doing a recipe demo in the farthest east pavilion.

Fun to go with friends, though did seem a little small. Runs all the way from July to October.

Rockhill Creamery

Rockhill Creamery cheeses are handcrafted by Pete Schropp and Jennifer Hines at our micro-dairy in Northern Utah. Our historic farm with its signature old granary is set in Cache Valley, where dairy farming and cheese making are long-standing traditions. All our raw milk cheeses are made in small batches using traditional cultures. They ripen in our underground aging room for at least 60 days to ensure the proper development and height of flavor. Their natural rinds allow the wheels to develop complex flavors as they age. We are firm believers in using natural, sustainable practices that will leave our little piece of paradise better than we found it. We are committed to the health of our animals and the well-being of our land.

This is my favourite place to shop! The prices are excellent; a lot of what I spend goes toward various charities, both in and out of the area. And there is the very definite bonus of the friendliness and caring of the owners.

Red Acre Farm

We at Red Acre Farm, in the pastoral Cedar Valley and the beautiful red dirt of southern Utah, are dedicated to promoting and modeling the small family farm by growing natural foods that sustain our land, our neighbors, and our souls.

We grow over 177 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We use a variety of seeds: saved, heirloom, biodynamic, organic, certified organic, and open pollinated. We never use GMO (genetically modified) seeds. Become a member of our CSA today.

As a small farm we have the advantage of growing produce for exceptional qualities of aroma, flavor, color, and texture. We promote a healthy farm organism through composting, cover crops, crop rotation, and compost teas. We never use herbicides, pesticides, or commercial fertilizer. By utilizing these methods, we produce food superior to those labeled as “Certified Organic” because of recent changes that allow a certain percentage of non-organic substances to be added in the process of growing certified organic food. With less confidence in food labeled “organic,” consumers have even more responsibility to know where, when, and how their food was produced— a feat made much easier by personally knowing the grower.
