SLC Fermenting Co. LLC

Our product is called Habanero Arrow, which is a small batch, artisan made, fermented hot sauce made here in Salt Lake City, Utah.  My wife Tamra and I are former chefs and avid gardeners. We have been developing this product for just over four years. Habanero Arrow is a low-pH, Utah made, shelf-stable fermented hot sauce product which can go on the grocery shelves without the need for refrigeration.

Habanero Arrow contains fresh habanero peppers, organic garlic, white vinegar, organic carrots, organic fresh herbs, organic xanthan gum (a natural thickener/emulsifier) and salt. This product is vegan, raw, gluten free and loaded with probiotics. It has the unique benefit of being both spicy and gut healthy.

We are operating out of the Salt Fire Brewery at 2195 S. W. Temple in their commercial kitchen. This facility has been inspected and approved for food production by the Utah Department of Agriculture.

SLC Fermenting endeavors to roll out some other hot sauces such as whiskey barrel aged hot sauces, other pepper-based sauces, probiotic health drink shots, spicy kimchis and kraut-chis, as well as other products. We’re also teaming up with Salt Fire Brewing to create some creative beer and other cocktails.  We’re just out of the gate with our flagship Habanero Arrow hot sauce.

We hope you like it as much as we do.

Sunnyvale Farmers Market

As a program of New Roots at the International Rescue Committee(IRC), the Sunnyvale Farmers Market (SFM) is an affordable fresh food resource in Salt Lake City, UT.  The market operates every Saturday, from the third weekend in June to the second weekend of October. The market features locally grown produce and culturally relevant crops familiar to the high population of refugee and new Americans in the area. The Sunnyvale Farmers Market welcomes the Salt Lake Valley to enjoy the inclusive market atmosphere and try something new, with vegetables and vendors selling food from countries around the world.

SFM participates in Double Up Food Bucks which offers a discount to customers who shop with their EBT cards (formerly known as food stamps/SNAP). Sunnyvale Farmers Market will offer a $20 match incentive for the 2019 market season.

Customers shopping with their EBT cards can stop by the token booth when they arrive at the market.  Market staff are there to help exchange SNAP dollars for farmers market tokens and match the amount a customer intends to spend up to $20. For example: when a customer chooses to spend $20 from their EBT card, they will receive an additional $20 in Double Up Food Bucks to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.

In addition to the New Roots Farm Stand, the Sunnyvale Farmers Market features local vendors, a food pantry, free kids lunch, nutrition classes, and kids activities. The Sunnyvale Food Pantry distributes primarily unprocessed food staples, while supplies last. The food pantry is operated in partnership with Bishop Storehouse. The Sunnyvale Pantry also partners with The Green Urban Lunch Box to offer locally gleaned fruit at no cost, throughout the summer.

Great little farmers market. It’s not nearly as big as the downtown market, which isn’t necessarily bad, as it feels more intimate and easier to get through. There’s a decent selection of vendors and food trucks. We usually will walk around the farm afterwards, my son loves to see the animals after going through the market.

What a beautiful place! Love the Sunday Farmers market in the late Summer. You can get breakfast, or brunch and coffee. Not to mention all the amazing fresh farm produce abd other eclectic vendors. BUT there is so so much more! From the historic farm, barn and animals, with all the activities associated there, there are beautiful ground with huge trees and ponds, walking and jogging trails. There are vegetable gardens and beautiful carved wooden sculptures from trees. Playgrounds, picnic area, tons of grass, pet friendly. Just a wonderful place to spend some time!

Acres of recreation, wagon rides, historic tractors, huge play structure, animals galore, and the best Farmer’s market this side of the valley. I can’t say enough about how great this facility is. My family and I have been coming here for years. We love this historic farm. The tour of the farmhouse is definitely worth checking out.

Kid Curry Spirits, LLC

Our label is created specifically to honor the Utah Outlaw West.  Kid Curry (Harvey Logan) was a prominent member of the Wild Bunch with Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.  He had spent a formidable amount of his renegade life in Southern Utah with the Hole In The Wall Gang.  The label is Kid Curry’s wanted poster depiction.  Made into an outlaw by unfortunate circumstances, he became Butch and Sundance’s third in command. Considered one of the fastest guns in the Wild West – Harvey Logan also had another alias – Tom Capehart which is the signature name of our Vanilla Caramel Vodka.

What a fun and unique place. All the stores were so original. And I loved that they saved all these beautiful old houses. My favorite store was “Aunt Elsie’s”, with the mix of old, new, whimsical and unusual.
