Frog Bench Farms

Frog Bench Farms (FBF) is an organic urban farm nestled into the Wasatch foothills of Salt Lake City growing a little under two acres of high quality veggies, herbs, fruits, cut flowers, nuts, micro/petite greens and edible flowers since 2012. Our business model thrives on building local chef relations, who prepare our produce in beautiful ways for their eateries.

Whenever possible all plants are started from seed. We utilize cold frames, low/high hoop houses and our 2800 square foot greenhouse to grow year round. Our small organization sells to local restaurants and food trucks in a 15 mile radius.

Our operation relies heavily on solar power, a water collection system, composting, crop rotation, beneficial insects, and cover crops. These are better for the environment and create a better tasting product when it hits your plate!

Sometimes it’s not the quantity produced, but rather the quality of the product. Here at Frog Bench Farms we focus on bringing the most delicious ingredients to our local chefs.

Keep It Real Vegetables

Keep It Real Vegetables is an urban farming project located in Salt Lake City, Utah. I grow produce by hand on several small-scale gardens in the Salt Lake valley. I am dedicated to growing the freshest, highest quality produce available. I adhere strictly to organic growing practices, enriching my soils with massive quantities of compost, compost teas, cover crops, and organic amendments until the soil is sweet enough to deliver the flavor I am looking for.

The quality of produce grown by these lovely people is second to none, it is the best Salt Lake City has to offer! I love knowing these two care for the earth and soil as much as they do for the vegetables they grow.

Just made potato salad with your garlic scapes. OMG it is amazing!!!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for introducing me to scapes. I have added them to a bunch of my old standby dishes as well as trying the things you suggested. I don’t know what I did before scapes. They are so good and add to everything I try them in!

I’ve been following Tyler since the Sand Hill Farms days and his ever-expanding produce selection has–in terms of taste, nutrition and environmental stewardship–consistently been as good as it gets.

Borski Farms

Borski Farms CSA features a wide variety of fresh, organically grown vegetables, fruits, and herbs picked at the peak of ripeness. Look forward to herbs such as oregano, Italian parsley, basil, and sage.

Borski Farms CSA Program is 15 weeks long, starting in late June and ending in early October. One share contains a small amount (approximately 1 pound per item) of four to six different items per week.

Look forward to salad greens, peas, beets, garlic, squash, cherries, apricots, beans, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, carrots, peaches, raspberries, eggplant, potatoes, apples and melons throughout the summer months. We even offer jack-o-lanterns pumpkins in October. Visit us at our roadside stand, at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market, or become one of our CSA members.

Heirlooms and More, Worden Produce

Heirlooms & More, Worden Produce is a Utah-based grower of specialty heirloom vegetables.  We also operate a stone ground gluten-free grain mill. From our central Utah base of operations, we can effectively service all of Utah and southern Nevada. Before the industrialization of agriculture (pre-1950s), a much wider variety of vegetables and products for milling were grown.

Today’s modern agricultural practices use large, single hybrid and genetically modified (GMO) variety plots to produce the majority of vegetables and milled products commercially available.  These hybrid and GMO varieties are selected for their productivity, ability to withstand mechanical picking, cross-country shipping, and tolerance to drought, frost, or pesticide/herbicide use—not for their local freshness, quality, taste, and nutritional value.

Our select heirloom varieties provide a source of locally and naturally grown vegetables and products for stone milling whereby the full flavor, quality, and nutritional value of the non-hybrid/open pollinated species are available to you.

Darin & Jennifer are two of the hardest working folks I know. They are dedicated to providing the highest quality produce and all of their products are absolutely amazing! We have been feeding our family with their products this year and they always seem to amaze us with the quality, the colors and the richness of flavor their products give us. Thank you for all you do!

Polka Bean

Polka Bean products came from the idea that delicious dishes can and should be made for people with even the most severe food allergies. Polka Bean creator Wendy Butters started making tasty foods from beans in order avoid common allergens like wheat and nuts.

What started with creative recipes to make bean-based treats for coworkers and friends became a booming business. Polka Bean has grown to offer a selection of delectable cookie doughs, chocolate hummus and marinated chickie beans that are dairy free, soy free, nut free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. To try these allergen-free products, buy local at the SLC Downtown Farmers Market and Wasatch Front Farmers Market.
