R&A Hydroponics

Leafy Greens & Herbs

R & A Hydroponics provides quality leafy greens and herbs, grown hydroponically (or with less water) in historical area of West Jordan. Our farmhouse is more than 100 years old, and we have enjoyed revitalizing a portion of farm life again in West Jordan. We offer leafy greens – butterhead lettuce, oak leaf lettuce and other varieties of baby head lettuces perfect for mixed salad. In addition, we grow kale, arugula and spinach in our greenhouse. You can also find fresh farmstead herbs like basil, oregano, thyme, cilantro and parsley. One of the blessings of growing hydroponically is we can provide our customers with fresh produce year round. Please check our website for other seasonal products.

R & A Hydroponics mission is to produce the best vegetables and vegetable starts we can for the Wasatch front. This means we grow using organic practices on our farm, even though we’re not USDA Organic certified. Please come and see us at our seasonal farmers markets or contact us directly for wholesale inquiries.

Reviews:

The plants we purchased from R&A were by far the healthiest, most prolific plants in the garden. Our cherry tomatoes from R&A produced into November! Super nice people, fantastic plants, and tons of produce, there is no reason to buy your plants anywhere else. – Daneka Ewert, Facebook

We have always had a passion for gardening – one year we had some extra tomatoes and our children suggested we attend the market to sell our extra produce. Soon to conserve water in our desert climate we started growing hydroponically in 12×12 greenhouse in 2016. As we began empty nesters, we decided to expand our passion and found a large greenhouse in historic West Jordan. Throughout our farm journey we have experimented with several types of hydroponic growing. We started with a vertical system growing vine crops like peppers , cucumbers and tomatoes, and in 2021 transitioned to a nutrient based system that feeds the plant using a rail or gutter-like system. We enjoy working side-by-side, growing quality leafy greens and herbs. We have found joy in educating others about water conservation through hydroponic growing from home systems to larger scale operations. One of our favorite things about owning R & A Hydroponics is greeting our customers weekly at the market and developing life-long relationships.
