Known as Boden Candy, this old fashioned, hand made stick candy comes in five flavors: peppermint, wintergree, clove, lemon, brown-sugar peppermint. It was brought to Brigham City, Utah from Wales in 1868 by Annorah Coleman Boden as she emmigrated to Utah with her family. Her husband, James, died of Mountain Fever the day after arriving in Salt Lake City, so Annorah, with her children moved to Brigham City to be near two other children who had moved there earlier. She made a living doing odd jobs and making candy and selling it whenever she could purchase sugar. The business grew to eventually become Brigham City's first boarding house, called The Boden House. The technique and recipe has been passed down from generation to generation, one person in each making it. As such, supplies are limited and advanced notice for orders are appreciated.
